Forget coronavirus, according to this US minister there’s a ‘virulent’ strain of ‘homovirus’ destroying America

In a bizarre rant claiming that coronavirus is a plot by Marxist media to collapse the US economy, homophobic minister EW Jackson said that the real issue is a “virulent” strain of “homovirus” destroying America.

The minister and former Republican candidate for the US senate in Virginia, who previously described LGBT+ activists as “servants of Satan”, is an ardent coronavirus conspiracy theorist.

On his radio show The Awakening, run by the anti-LGBT+ hate group American Family Association, he explained why he thinks the world is worrying about COVID-19.

Jackson said: “I really believe that the mainstream media wants a panic in America. I believe that the people who are opposed to president Donald Trump would like to see an economic collapse if they thought that it would bring about the end of the Trump administration.

“I think they hate this man so much that they would see mass suffering in this country if they thought it would bring about his political demise. It is typical, by the way, of Marxism, because these people really are Marxists, they’re leftists, progressive doesn’t really capture it.

“These people are socialists and communists… They’d like to create a crisis where there isn’t, and collapse the stock market, collapse the economy.”

So what should Christians and conservatives really be worrying about, you ask? The “homovirus”, of course.

Jackson said: “The last thing in the world the Black community needs is more destruction of the family, more attacks on the family, and that’s all this whole homosexual movement amounts to.

“It is a virulent, violent attack… It is the homovirus for the family.”

He added: “Of course, I am speaking from a spiritual and a psychological perspective, I’m not talking about AIDS… I hope that no one misunderstands my little putting together of two things, because you know we’re talking about this coronavirus.

“I’m not talking about physical illness. I’m not talking about pronouncing any physical curses on people. I feel the need to explain myself here.

“I’m talking about the spiritual and psychological element that is introduced into a community that is already having major problems with family formation, and family maintenance, and rearing of children, and now you want to throw this garbage into the mix as well.”

After apparently receiving some negative attention for his comments, Jackson addressed the “homovirus” again in yet another radio broadcast.

He stood by his comments, however, and reiterated: “The last thing we need is the homovirus running rampant in our culture… I’m talking about a psychological and spiritual and emotional illness that is generated by young people children feeling abandoned, and in fact being abandoned, by their parents.”

“Homovirus” is not the first word that Jackson has made up, and he appears to enjoy adding the prefix “homo” to real, existing words.

In 2019, he said that if Pete Buttigieg became president, America would become a “homocracy”.

He said: “As much as these LGBT+ activists say that I want a theocracy, which I don’t, because I don’t want to see them punished or put them in jail for what they’re doing, I want to see them converted… But I guarantee they’d love to see you or me punished or put in jail.

“We don’t want a theocracy, but I guarantee you they want a homocracy.”

In response to the backlash against his made-up word, Jackson wrote on Twitter: “The word ‘homocracy’ which I coined turns the tables on the gay mafia that is constantly persecuting Christians for trying to be true to our faith.

“We are simply repeating without hatred what the Bible teaches. LGBT+ activists hatred is on full display.”
