Elizabeth Warren joined SNL’s Kate McKinnon for a hilarious ‘gay coronavirus’ skit

Elizabeth Warren and Kate McKinnon on Saturday Night Live

Elizabeth Warren came face to face with her Saturday Night Live impersonator Kate McKinnon during a Fox News parody skit.

McKinnon kicked off this weekend’s Saturday Night Live as Fox News commentator Laura Ingraham, delivering a scorching satire of the network’s coronavirus coverage.

“The left continues to wage its deceitful, dishonest and frankly gay smear campaign against president Trump,” she said before introducing a video of “some local libs driving to Whole Foods to buy the last bottle of organic Purell [hand sanitizer]”.

After quizzing judge Jeanine Pirro (Cecily Strong), Hardball anchor Chris Matthews (Darrell Hammond) and Eric and Donald Trump Jr (Alex Moffat and Mikey Day), McKinnon’s Ingraham introduced “the woman who savagely murdered Michael Bloomberg on live television… senator Elizabeth Warren”.

“How have you been since dropping out of the race?” McKinnon asked as the audience cheered.

“I’m doing just fine,” Warren replied. “My friends and family have been so supportive, they’ve been calling non-stop asking are you OK, what do you need, were you electable… that kind of thing.”

“Well you certainly ran memorable a campaign.

“Here’s footage of you debating Mike Bloomberg,” McKinnon replied, cutting to footage of Warren’s dog Bailey eating a burrito.

“Just to be clear were you the dog or the burrito?”

“I was the dog.”

Elizabeth Warren met Kate McKinnon’s Elizabeth Warren.

Despite its early end, Warren said she was “so proud” of her campaign.

“Not only did I not accept money from billionaires, I got to give one a swirly on live TV.”

After telling McKinnon’s Ingraham that she planned to take time out for self care – “hanging out with my dog, prank-calling big banks” – she was joined by the lesbian comedian in full Elizabeth Warren drag.

“I just wanted to put on my favourite outfit to thank you for all that you’ve done in your lifetime,” McKinnon said, wearing a copycat of Warren’s signature blue blazer.

“I’m not dead, I’m just in the Senate,” the politician quipped.

After the episode aired, Saturday Night Live released a video of Warren and McKinnon doing the viral “Flip The Switch challenge”.

The clip momentarily broke the internet, with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez calling it legendary, and other Democrat supporters facing up to their ‘massive mistake’.
