Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union and their trans daughter Zaya hit the red carpet in style, and their outfits said it all.

The Wade family stepped out in a stunning colour-coordinated ensemble for the Better Brothers Los Angeles’ 6th annual Truth Awards, an event to increase awareness of the black LGBT+ community.

Dwyane and Gabrielle made their support for their daughter clear with their two-tone tailored suits which perfectly complemented hers.

The former basketball star wore a black and white blazer and a bright pink shirt, while actress and activist Gabrielle wore a similar suit in inverted colours and a touch of green across the front.

Standing between them and beaming with pride was Zaya, 12, wearing a matching green suit and pink purse paired with a bright pink accent round her hips.

The proud parents reportedly flashed approving smiles at their daughter as the cameras snapped away.

In recent months the family have been showing just how little they care about the haters as they continue to publicly stand by their daughter throughout her transition.

In February Gabrielle shared a video on social media of Zaya casually and confidently discussing her experience of dysphoria with her father.

The touching conversation showed Zaya is wiser than her years as she delivered a poignant speech about learning to be “true to yourself”.

“What’s the point in being on this Earth if you’re going to try to be someone you’re not?” she said when her dad gently prompted her to share her feelings.

“It’s like you’re not even living as yourself, which is the dumbest concept to me… Just be true and don’t really care what the stereotypical way of being is.”

The video ends with Dwyane sharing a knowing look to the camera. Gabrielle captioned the post: “Meet Zaya. She’s compassionate, loving, whip smart and we are so proud of her. It’s OK to listen to, love & respect your children exactly as they are. Love and light good people.”
