Puerto Rican trap singer Bad Bunny has opened up about viewing sexuality as being fluid, saying “one never knows” what will happen in the future.

In an interview with the LA Times about his meteoric rise, which has seen him go from paying his way through college by working at a supermarket to performing with Shakira at the Super Bowl halftime show in just a few short years, Bad Bunny revealed that he thinks sexuality can be fluid.

Bad Bunny is long-time LGBT+ ally. Last year, he led protests in Puerto Rico calling on the island’s governor to resign and calling out his views on sexuality and gender.

He’s also been vocal about LGBT+ equality since bursting onto the music scene in 2016, calling out reggaeton star Don Omar for making anti-gay comments, saying: “Homophobia in this day and age? How embarrassing, man.”

Asked to define his own sexuality, Bad Bunny – given name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio – was not particularly interested in defining it.

“It does not define me,” he said.

“At the end of the day, I don’t know if in 20 years I will like a man. One never knows in life. But at the moment I am heterosexual and I like women.”

The 25-year-old added he is seeing somebody now, though he declined to name the person.

Last week, Bad Bunny paid a touching tribute to a trans woman who was brutally killed.

Performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on February 27, Bad Bunny shrugged off his dusty pink double-breasted blazer to reveal a simple slogan t-shirt.

“They killed Alexa,” the tee in Spanish, read, “not a man with a skirt.”

Trans, homeless and frequently sneered at online for her hunchbacked appearance and black tresses, Alexa Negrón Luciano was found dead last week.

Her death rippled across the community, yet many local outlets misgendered her in reports.
