Bruised by low turnouts in the Iowa and New Hampshire caucuses, Joe Biden’s presidential bid has found an unlikely support in the form of singer Cher.

With a few weeks to go before the final leg of her “Here We Go Again Tour”, and just days before the Nevada caucuses, it’s a busy time ahead for the pair, to say the least.

But the songstress took the time to send a tweet swamped with positive adjectives and randomly placed commas on Monday to endorse her choice for the Democratic presidential nomination.

In the tweet, she implored Biden – currently struggling to secure support and battling ageists concerns – to not give up.

What did Cher say?

The “Turn Back Time” singer wrote: “Good ? today and everyday Joe Biden.

“I forgot for [a] minute what a good, wise, kind man you are but I won’t turn my back on you now that you’re struggling.

“Many times in my life, people said, ‘She’s untalented, too old for for movies, music, the stage.’

“Don’t give up, Joe,” she said, before quoting William Henley’s poem Invictus: “‘Your head is bloodied, but unbowed.”

Just less than an hour later, she doubled down on her support for the former Delaware senator as well as firing a veiled dig towards fellow contestant Mike Bloomberg.

“This will most likely be unpopular,” she wrote, “but last night, I asked myself: ‘Who would I be if I denied a man I know and respect for a shiny, new, tech-savvy billionaire?’

“Joe’s made mistakes, like all of us, but I believe he would be [an] honest, smart, civil president who doesn’t have to learn on the job.”

Bloomberg, the former New York City mayor, has barrelled up the polls this year. Leaping from four per cent in December to 19 per cent support among Democrats and left-leaning independents, a national poll by NPR, PBS NewsHour and Marist released Tuesday found.

As the fourth qualifier poll showed Bloomberg with more than 10 per cent support, it secured him a spot in today’s Democratic debate – his first.

Fans left ‘devastated’ by Cher endorsing Joe Biden.

Reactions to Cher backing Biden proved mix.

While users welcomed the support, some were left “devastated” by the endorsement while others wondered whether it would be enough to resurrect his campaign.

Later in the evening, Cher began to counter the criticism she was facing from her followers.

In re-affirming her support for Biden, she also amplified her attack against Bloomberg with a not exactly subtle: “?[What the f**k] ? is ? Bloomberg ?”

Joe Biden’s position in the caucuses are slipping.

Biden’s campaign team is currently banking on securing second place in the upcoming Nevada caucuses as the former vice president hopes to revive a campaign plunged by plummeting poll numbers.

The plan? Re-energise his slipping presidential bid with a delegate advantage after the four contests.

But donors and supports have raised concerns about his apparent firewall state – South Carolina – being jeopardised by his poor caucus track record so far.

Nevada this Saturday will prove a race to reignite his campaign and make a comeback rather than a caucus that only accelerates his demise.
