Piers Morgan shares text exchange with Phillip Schofield about his coming out for a reason unbeknown to us

Piers Morgan has bizarrely attempted to make Phillip Schofield’s coming out about himself by sharing a text exchange he allegedly shared with the star.

In his Mail on Sunday column, the Good Morning Britain host – who has launched various attacks on trans and non-binary people on his show – shared an alleged text exchange he had with Schofield after his public coming out earlier this month.

In his column, Morgan said he texted Schofield when the news broke and said: “You must be feeling a little discombobulated, but never has the phrase ‘better out than in’ seemed more appropriate. Honesty is always the best policy in matters of the heart.”

Phillip Schofield allegedly told Piers Morgan he felt ‘lighter of the heart’ after coming out as gay.

Morgan claimed Schofield responded: “Discombobulated is definitely the right word! It wasn’t easy but for the first time in a long time, I feel a little lighter of the heart.”

Then, on what was probably one of the biggest days in Schofield’s life, Morgan asked if he could now release an “updated” version of his 1992 unofficial biography of the This Morning presenter.

You must be feeling a little discombobulated, but never has the phrase ‘better out than in’ seemed more appropriate.

“Go for it!’ Schofield replied, “Though you might need to rewrite the end…”

In the column, Morgan added: “Coming out is tough enough for any gay person, but to do it in the full glare of millions of TV viewers and subsequent media frenzy is even tougher.

“I wish Phil and his family all the best.”

Morgan has repeatedly hit out at trans and non-binary people on Good Morning Britain.

Morgan is a controversial figure within the LGBT+ community due to his repeated attacks on trans and non-binary people.

More than 1,000 people complained to Ofcom last year when he mocked trans and non-binary people by claiming he identified as a “two-spirit penguin.”

A petition to have him sacked was later signed by more than 33,000 people, but he was cleared of wrongdoing by Ofcom.

Phillip Schofield came out as gay in an emotional Instagram post on February 7.

“You never know what’s going on in someone’s seemingly perfect life, what issues they are struggling with, or the state of their wellbeing,” Schofield wrote.

“And so you won’t know what has been consuming me for the last few years.

“With the strength and support of my wife and daughters, I have been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay.”
