In today’s news that is very, very much real, a gay couple divorced because they disagreed on the seismic debate that is: Who’s the better rapper, Cardi B or Nicki Minaj?

The musicians have a winding and well-documented beef between them, turning Instagram feeds and radio airwaves into battlefields and inciting stan-on-stan violence.

It was a feud that split the world, or, at least, those who care. But two victims of the violence was Don’te and D’Andrew Leaphart, who appeared on the American television show, Divorce Court.

They took to the Fox Network show to air their dirty laundry, which judge Lynn Toler initially thought was a joke.

Man literally busted the windows of his husband’s car over Minaj vs Cardi.

“What actually caused the separation?” quizzed the judge.

D’Andrew replied: “The Nicki Minaj and Cardi B beef. I’m serious about that.”

The judge was convinced they were kidding, but D’Andrew said they were discussing “who started” the beef.

“It was silly,” Don’te said, before coming out as team Cardi. D’Andrew, team Nicki.

Lynee is acceptable disbelief, expressed: “And you broke up with that?”

While Don’te admitted that there were “underlying issues before”, the conflict “was one of the moments [D’Andrew] was disrespectful” towards him.

The latest in a long-running line of “ungrateful” and “disrespectful” moments that brought an end to their four and a half-yearlong relationship.

They had been married for two years and together for a further two and a half.

At another point during the show, Don’te said that after the altercation, D’Andrew broke his Prius car window as well as his rental apartment windows.

But running after him, Don’te found D’Andrew in his own car singing Jazmine Sullivan’s song, “Bust Your Windows”.

It remains unclear whether D’Andrew wrote his initials with a crowbar or drove off in the dark, however.

Don’te was seeking payment for damages incurred on his rental home with D’Andrew, asking him to pay his half.

In the end, Toler told D’Andrew that he should settle the debt.

Long-stewed beef between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B ignited by Divorce Court couple.

Twitter users were mesmerised by the court case, but stans made their turfs clear as the war waged on between Minaj and Cardi B.

Others drew lines of solidarity with the couple.

While some sternly supported the couple’s decision to call it quits. The politics of hip-hop takes no prisoners.
