Baga Chipz, Shea Couleé and queens galore on the Drag Race UK vs US showdown you’ve been dreaming of

Drag Race queens spill tea on the UK vs US showdown you've dreamed of

As dozens of queens stormed London for the first-ever DragCon UK, PinkNews took the opportunity to stir the pot and find out who the queens would want to face-off against in a Drag Race UK vs US showdown.

Since Drag Race UK sashayed onto screens last October, fans have been clamouring for the UK and US queens to compete against one another.

The inaugural British season gave us a few clues as to how the UK queens would interact with their American counterparts, with Drag Race royalty Raven and Katya both making surprise appearances in the werk room.

Jinkx Monsoon and Divina de Campo are among the queens lobbying for a UK vs US series, and we already know that RuPaul isn’t one to say no to a spin-off – just ask the casts of Drag U, All Stars, Celebrity Drag Race and the numerous international editions that have aired or are in production.

At DragCon UK, PinkNews caught up with queens from both sides of the Atlantic to discuss who they’d love to face off against, and who they think they could take on in a lip sync for your legacy.

Derrick Barry.

“I would like to sing against Divina De Campo, I hear she does opera.

I won’t do opera, I’ll do Britney.

Baga Chipz.

“I love Monet X Change, she’s amazing. I wouldn’t want to lip-sync against any of them though because they’re all lip-sync assassins and I sing, I can’t dance. Give me a microphone any day.”

Blair St Clair.

“The British queens are really sickening. My favourite of all time is one of my best friends, her name is Ellis Atlantis, I’d love to see a lip-sync battle between the two of us.”

Sum Ting Wong.

“I love Mayhem Miller, I did a gig the other day with Blair St Clair, I was just chatting to Bob The Drag Queen and Trinity the Tuck. But I would lip sync against absolutely none of them unless it was to the Macarena.”

Shea Couleé.

Personally I would lip sync against any one of them and kick their a**.

Mariah Balenciaga.

“[The British queens] are all so f***ing amazing. Ms Vivienne, Baga Chipz – that b*** is crazy! And Vinegar, she left a sour taste in my mouth. I think my throat is pregnant!”

Scaredy Kat.

“Probably Morgan McMichaels. We’ve been chatting a bit and he seems really nice, I feel it could be fun.”

Mrs Kasha Davies.

“I would like to lip sync against Baga Chipz because we’re just like each other, she is just fantastic. I loved the UK season. Mr Davies and I sat on our recliners and binge watched the whole thing, it was fantastic.”

Laila McQueen.

“I’m not a fan of lip-syncing against anyone because that hasn’t worked out for me a whole lot! But I loved all of Drag Race UK, I love The Family Gorgeous, I’m also a big fan of Ellis Atlantis and Juno Birch, they’re some of my favourite people.”
