Jake Shears, lead singer of Scissor Sisters, has revealed that he stripped off all of his clothes at Elton John’s stag do in 2005.

The singer made the comments following his appearance on ITV’s The Masked Singer, where judges have to guess what singer is behind a mask.

His identity was revealed after he gave a series of clues to the judges’ panel, telling them that he had once appeared in his “birthday suit” in front of Ozzy Osbourne.

Ozzy’s daughter Kelly was on the judging panel, and immediately replied: “I think I know who you are. Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters as I know my dad has seen him naked. It was Elton’s stag party.

Jake Shears was ‘on a pole’ and in his ‘birthday suit’ at Elton John stag do.

Shears confirmed the bizarre story was true, saying after he had been unmasked: “I was at Elton’s stag do, it was a good time, it was really fun!”

The singer also confirmed that he was “on a pole” during his routine at Elton John’s famous bash.

Elton John’s stag party in 2005 was famously held in the Too2Much club in Soho, London and was attended by various famous faces, including the Osbournes.

According to The Mirror, Elton and his husband David Furnish turned up an hour late to the celebrations. The night was attended by famous faces including Cilla Black, Paul O’Grady and even featured a performance by Take That and a strip tease from Blue’s Lee Ryan.

Shears and Elton are currently working on a musical together.

At some point during the night, Shears took his clothes off – but attendees have remained tight-lipped about exactly what happened or how it came to be.

Shears and Elton are close friends and are currently working together on a musical.

In a 2018 interview with The Daily Star, Shears said: “Musicals take forever to get made, it’s a long-ass time because they’re so complicated.

“I’m really excited about it. Me and Elton hole ourselves up for days at a time, and just laugh. Then we write, then we laugh, then we write. All my experiences with Elton creating are joyful.”
