Demi Lovato predicted her own spectacular Super Bowl performance 10 years ago

Singer Demi Lovato sang at the Super Bowl over the weekend – a decade after she predicted that she’d one day perform there.
Lovato gave a powerhouse performance before the game started, singing the US national anthem “Star Spangled Banner”.
Multi-platinum artist Demi Lovato followed in the footsteps of queers and queer icons alike, with Lady Gaga, Pink, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston all having also sung in the Super Bowl pre-game slot.
Lovato’s performance at the 54th championship game, which saw the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the San Franciso 49ers, saw her belt out the national anthem on the world’s biggest stage.
Dressed in an all-white jumpsuit, she was fulfilling a long-held dream – one that she predicted 10 years ago, in a tweet.
“One day, I’m gonna sing the national anthem at the super bowl. Onnnee dayy…” she wrote, in a moment of spookily accurate foresight, more than a decade ago.

“Dreams really do come true y’all,” she wrote alongside a screenshot of the 2010 tweet.
Her Super Bowl performance came a week after her triumphant return to the stage at the Grammys, following her 2018 overdose and hospitalisation.

Last week, Lovato candidly recounted the moment she came out as sexually fluid to her parents.
Lovato said that the moment she told her family her truth it was “emotional, but really beautiful”.
“After everything was done, I was, like, shaking and crying, and I just felt overwhelmed,” she said.
“My dad was like, ‘Yeah, obviously.’
“And I was like, ‘Oh, OK, dad.’
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer, a longtime LGBT+ advocate, revealed in 2017 that she was open to dating women, saying: “That’s how I’ve always felt.”
