In what can only be described as the dictionary definition of ‘perfection’, an artist doodled the 2020 Grammy winners as Pokemon trainers.

Countless Twitter users did their best Joan Rivers impressions by commenting on the fashion that paraded down the star-studded carpet of the awards.

In what can only be described as the real life Elite Four, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Ariana Grande and Billy Porter were all given Poké-makeovers and they’re super effective.

Lil Nas X as a fairy type Pokemon trainer? We seriously stan.

The artist – or is that PokéArtist? OK, we’ll stop with the PokéPrefixes now, maybe – behind the drawings is Ray Pratiwi.

The illustrator, based in Indonesia, explained to Buzzfeed News they have been a fan of the classic Nintendo series for more than a decade.

“A lot of the designs are not that complicated, so it’s relatively easier to draw, but also not too simple and generic,” Pratiwi told BuzzFeed News.

“The human characters are also nicely designed too!

“I’m a sucker for ‘themed’ character designs, and a lot of the human characters are designed around a specific Pokémon ‘type’. I really enjoy drawing them.”

As soon as comparisons were drawn between the Grammy winner’s outré outfits and the cartoonish trainer gear were made, Pratiwi opened up Clip Studio Paint on their iPad and got sketching.

“I tried identifying what makes the Pokémon art style work,” they said.

“Since my usual art style isn’t too drastically different from Pokémon’s, it wasn’t too hard — but I still took note that certain features are unique to this style, such as the eye shape, the face shape, the line work, and the shading style.”

If you need a quick role call, Eilish was ready for battle in a poison type get-up, complete with a colourful Alohan Muk by her side.

Lil Nas X was legally obligated to be a fairy type trainer, with Granbull growling by his side.

While Grande opted to send chills down her foe’s spines with a ghost type look. Dusknoir can be seen floating behind her.

And, finally, Porter has all his enemies on thin ice with an ice looks paired with Glaceon.
