YouTuber James Charles leaked his own phone number, for some reason, and received more than 100,000 texts from fans and followers in a single day.

The beauty guru claims he didn’t get hacked, and instead reasoned that he leaked his digits to “communicate and talk to” his fans more directly.

Charles’ iPhone then blew up, of course, with the 20-year-old claiming he received “more than 10,000 messages” and has vowed to reply to as many as he can.

James Charles has ‘perfect solution’ to communicating with fans.

“One of my biggest goals for 2020 was finding more ways that I can communicate and talk to you guys directly, when I’m not able to give you hugs at meet and greets and stuff,” the vlogger explained on his Instagram story on Tuesday.

“I have the perfect solution, I am giving you guys my phone number.

“I know that sounds crazy, but I think it’s gonna be so much fun.”
He later posted a screen recording of himself replying to fans in real time.

“It is me,” he said, “it goes directly to my phone.”

After sharing his personal phone number to his 16.2 million Instagram followers, Charles, who once leaked his own nude, then tweeted out his number to his 4.6 million followers.

He even had to clarify that he was “not hacked” after some fans couldn’t believe.

Although, after his notifications centre was blasted by thousands of blue and green bubbles, some fans reported receiving automatic texts back from Charles.

While the make-up artist vowed to reply to as many as he can – “a bunch” to be exact – fans claimed to receive texts back from Charles saying he can only “text back US and Canadian numbers for now.

“Add me to your contacts to get notified when I can reply!” the message continued.
