Vile extremist pastor claims the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak is God ‘purging’ trans children

Rick Wiles says LGBT lawyer's coronavirus death was 'God's judgement'

The extremist pastor and evangelical radio host Rick Wiles has blamed the deadly Wuhan coronavirus outbreak on transgender children and “sexual immorality”.

Over 100 people have died so far as the Chinese government scrambles to control the virus. Amidst the tragedy, Wiles saw an opportunity to go on a rant against the “vile, disgusting people” who are “transgendering little children”.

Speaking on his far-right conspiracy show TruNews, Wiles said: “Spirit bears witness that this is a genuine plague that is coming upon the earth, and God is about to purge a lot of sin off this planet.”

China deserves to be the centre of this plague because of its “godless communist government,” he said, adding that the US is bound for the same.

His reasoning? “Look at the spiritual rebellion that is in this country, the hatred of God, the hatred of the Bible, the hatred of righteousness, the hatred of innocence.

“Vile, disgusting people in this country now, transgendering little children, perverting them. Look at the rapes, and the sexual immorality, and the filth on our TVs and our movies.

“Folks, the Death Angel may be moving right now across the planet,” he said. “This is the time to get right with God.”

Pinning global disasters on people who don’t correspond with his own backwards worldview is entirely in keeping with Wiles, who has previously blamed “gay Nazis” for the Las Vegas mass shooting, and “the sexual perversion movement” for Hurricane Harvey.

Despite the fact that TruNews regularly includes such bizarre commentary as “If god sent angels to this country, homosexuals would attempt to rape them” and “Ebola could solve all of America’s problems”, Donald Trump has granted the site official press credentials, along with all the access that entails.

The White House has not commented on why TruNews has been treated like a real news organisation.
