Eminem’s new album includes shockingly distasteful lyric about Ariana Grande terror attack

Eminem: Shocking lyric about Ariana Grande terror attack on new album

Rapper Eminem is facing a chorus of criticism for a lyric in a new song that makes light of a horrific terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concert.

Panic and mayhem seized crowds of Grande fans during a gig in 2017 after a suicide bombing killed 22 people and wounded 59 others.

For some reason, Eminem included a boorish lyric referring to the bomb blast in his song “Unaccommodating” from his new album, Music To Get Murdered By, dropped today.

The lyric goes:

But I’m contemplating yelling “Bombs away” on the game
Like I’m outside of an Ariana Grande concert waiting

An explosion sound is then played, queuing the rest of the song that references suicide attacks and terrorism.

Mother of gay son lost to Ariana Grande concert attack calls Eminem ‘distasteful’.

Martyn Hett, 29, was a bright-eyed PR worker who lost his life in the attack.

His mother, Figen Murray, initially expressed his disbelief on Twitter when someone alerted her to the song’s existence: “That would be a real shame if he did that,” she wrote.

Minutes later, Murray tweeted: “Feels like he is piggybacking on the fame of Ariana grande and Justin Bieber and says distasteful things about other celebrities.

“Not clever. Totally pointless.”

Eminem branded ‘disgusting’ by fans.

Furthermore, the lyric fanned fury from Ariana Grande and Eminem fans alike.

The album, the singer’s 11th, was reportedly going to feature a song about being gay, a rumour which, given his track record of transphobic and homophobic content, sparked unease in fans.

Eminem previously claimed that his use of slurs such as “d**e” and “f***ot” were not actually aimed at the LGBT+ community.

Moreover, this isn’t even the first time Eminem decided to use his finite time on this planet to rap about the Manchester bombing.

In December 2018, the Detroit rapper said in the song ‘Kick Off’:

Squashed in-between a brainwashing machine
Like an Islamic regime, a jihadist extreme radical
Suicide bomber that’s seeing
Ariana Grande sing her last song of the evening
And as the audience from the damn concert is leaving
Detonates the device strapped to his abdominal region
I’m not gonna finish that, for obvious reasons
