Dua Lipa dancing in a gay club to her own song needs to be played in the Louvre on repeat

Did Dua Lipa just shout, at the top of her lungs, "gay rights!"? Yes, yes she did. (Screen captures via Twitter)

In what can only be described as breaking news, singer Dua Lipa danced in a New York City, US, gay club and it was as iconic as you could have imagined.

Oh, and she was dancing to her recently dropped song, “Don’t Start Now”. Life imitated art, considering the music video is of her dancing in clubs.

The devil works hard, but her publicist works harder.

Dua Lipa dancing in a gay club is dictionary definition of gay rights.

Mobile phone footage of writer Jon Ali dancing at the Greenwich Village gay bar Playhouse with the “New Rules” singer went viral for obvious reasons.

As did the sequel to the clip, Dua Lipa dancing to The Pussycat Dolls’ “Don’t Cha”. A moment of existence we didn’t know we needed to see until now.

The pair’s synchronised dancing could be considered a piece of performative art, to be quite honest. Marina Abramović could never.

Ali and Dua Lip later grabbed a selfie together, which similarly should be hung in the Louvre.

LGBT+ decree ‘New Rules’ singer as ‘queen of the gays’.

The reactions to this moment of religious importance was, in short, LGBT+ Twitter declaring Dua Lipa as “queen of the gays”.

If further proof is demanded that the 24-year-old singer is an ally, the musician has consistently supported the LGBT+ community.

Last year, she came out in support of boycotting Brunei after the country announced the death penalty for gay sex.

Moreover, “Swan Song” was a tune laced with messages inspired by the tireless AIDS activists ACT UP.
