FBI hunt man dubbed ‘Bad Wig Bandit’ who robbed three banks while dressed in drag

The FBI are hunting a man who has been dubbed the “Bad Wig Bandit” after robbing three banks in drag, each time wearing a different wig.
The questionably accessorised suspect is believed to have robbed three banks in the Charlotte-Metro area of North Carolina, and donned a different hairpiece for each heist.
The FBI, which appears to have few leads in the case and has asked the public for help identifying the man, said that the Bad Wig Bandit first robbed the BB&T Bank in Huntersville on Friday, 13 December.
He is described as a black male of medium build in his 20s or 30s.
It added: “The suspect received an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank in an unknown direction.”
After taking a break over the holiday season, the bandit in drag was back at it again in January. On January 8, he robbed the New Horizon Bank in Belmont and just five hours later he pilfered the Wells Fargo in Gastonia. According to Spectrum News, the suspect was seen escaping the Gastonia robbery in a silver SUV.
No injuries were reported and, at the time of writing, he is still on the run.
The Bad Wig Bandit has gone viral on social media.
Some on social media were divided over just how bad the Bad Wig Bandit’s wigs actually were.
One person wrote on Twitter about the short brown wig with a fringe: “I mean idk if he should be ‘BAD wig bandit’ that first one had movement and shine… not stiff at all.”
They added: “Nice ombré, soft brown that compliments the skin tone, I’m here for it.”

Others suggested that the FBI’s nickname for the suspected criminal could be put to other uses. One person described it as “a new read that can be used to drag someone you can’t stand. OK,’bad wig bandit.'”
