As we approach the end of the year, nay, the end of the decade, it’s inevitable that Twitter becomes a race to be the winner of ‘Worst Take Ever Made’, and today’s competitor involves a burger.

With a tweet so bold, so brash, that it honestly belongs in the trash.

Earlier this year, fast-food franchise Burger King released a version of its iconic Whopper sandwich with a difference – it contained no beef.

The ‘100 per cent plant-based burger’ was made with a vegetarian patty from the start-up Impossible Foods.

As Burger King chefs grilled and flipped these plant patties, it was a huge step towards meat-free alternatives becoming mainstream.

But it appeared that one Twitter user was in no way emotionally ready to handle this concept.

‘Getting some Impossible Whoppers to get some impossible whoppers’.

Conspirators are convinced that the burger – which they claim contains 44 milligrams of oestrogen compared to 2.5 nanograms in the beef burger – will “make you female”.

You heard it here first. Sound the alarms!

No need for some trans folk to go through with gender affirmation surgeries. All you have to do is buy an Impossible Whooper.

What a marketing campaign! Wow!

In reality, there’s no evidence of this, the Washington Post reported, and the origin of the surreal claim stemmed from a December 20 report by Tri-State Livestock News.

A veterinary doctor reiterated the oestrogen count of the plant-based burger, before he decided to say, considering that all humans have a finite amount of time on this earth: “Just six glasses of soy milk per day has enough oestrogen to grow boobs on a male.”

Bottoms up!

Trans folk took to Twitter to school the conspirators, and it’s all a thing of beauty:
