Hillary Clinton has emphatically denied that she’s ever been tempted to have a lesbian affair, in case you were wondering for some reason.

The former secretary of state made the clarification on the Howard Stern Show, where she was promoting the release of a new book she’s written with her daughter, ‘The Book of Gutsy Women: Favourite Stories of Courage and Resilience.’

Discussing the man she was in a relationship with before she met Bill Clinton, Hillary said: “He was a good guy… he was so handsome, really handsome. He looked like a Greek god. He was very attractive.

“Contrary to what you might hear, I actually like men!” she added, probably in reference to a bizarre and totally unsubstantiated rumour spread during her 2016 presidential campaign that she was actually a secret lesbian.

Among the many ‘fake news’ stories published about her at the time was one that claimed Yoko Ono had admitted to an affair with Hillary in the 70s. An alleged mistress of Bill Clinton’s also claimed that Hillary had only had a child to quash rumours about her sexuality.

Hillary brushed off all the rumours, telling the morning radio show host that she was not in the least bit attracted to women.

“Raise your right hand, you’ve never had a lesbian affair,” Stern asked.

“Never, never, never!” Hillary proclaimed. “Never even been tempted, thank you very much.”

“Unbelievable,” Stern replied.

Hillary and Bill Clinton’s marriage has been intensely scrutinised ever since Bill’s infidelity while serving in the Oval Office. During his 1999 impeachment, the former president eventually admitted to having an affair with his 22-year-old intern Monica Lewinsky.

Appearing on Good Morning America on October 1, Hillary said that choosing to stay with her husband after his affair was the “gutsiest” thing she’d ever done, alongside running for president.

She later compared this hard “moment of decision” to that of parents considering how to act when their child tells them they are transgender.
