Azealia Banks has apologised for going on an “insensitive” rant about HIV-preventing PrEP drugs.

The former rapper had recorded a foul-mouthed rant on her Instagram Story in October, attacking gay men who take PrEP drugs to prevent HIV.

A month later, Banks has issued an apology for the rant, which was sparked by Frank Ocean’s queer club night named PrEP+.

Azealia Banks is ‘really really sorry’ for PrEP rant.

She wrote: “Hey guys, so…. a few weeks ago I went on a rant about Pre exposure prophylaxis meds and I am just doubling back to say I’m sorry.

“It’s not my place. It was extremely insensitive.

“Who cares if I meant well, that wasn’t the way. I’m really really sorry.”

Rapper told PrEP users to ‘see a f**king psychiatrist’.

In her original video, she had said: “Do not take that PrEP s**t. There’s no reason you need to have a f**king pill so you can just f**k whoever you wanna f**k and just be all kinds of nasty out there on the streets acting a f**king fool.

“The boys are still getting HIV. The girls are getting renal failure. They’re getting liver fucking failure, they’re getting anal warts, they’re getting anal cancer, OK? That’s a fucking death trap.

“And for that dumbass n***a Frank Ocean to sit up there and fucking promote that to y’all gays like that’s something that y’all need? It’s evil, and he’s probably getting paid by some white gay corporation to do this s**t.”

She added: “Y’all stay off that f**king PrEP. You don’t need to have everybody running up in your f**king a**hole all day.

“If you got a sex addiction like that, that you need a f**king pill so you can go f**k and suck and do all that, then you need to go see a f**king psychiatrist.”

Her comments were called out by Years & Years singer Olly Alexander.

Banks, who previously said she identifies as bisexual, was banned from Twitter in 2016 after referring to One Direction singer Zayn Malik as a “faggot”, a “sand n***a”, a “d**k rider” and a “p**i”.
