Nothing to see here, just a drag queen sitting in on the very first day of Trump’s impeachment hearing
Today was the first day of the impeachment hearing against Donald Trump, and various people were in attendance – including a drag queen.
Members of the public are allowed to attend the impeachment hearing, which is taking place in the US House of Representatives – so drag queen Pissi Myles saw her opportunity to steal the show and she took it.
Proceedings were kicked off today with testimony ambassador William Taylor and deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs George Kent offering testimony.
Drag queen Pissi Myles stole the show at the first day of the impeachment trial of Donald Trump.
Myles turned up wearing a jaw-dropping red vinyl min-dress and the photos of her standing among various men in suits are incredible.
“It’s a crazy day in Washington!” Myles told NBC News. “I’m flipping my wig over the high-energy proceedings today. Tensions are high, and the bar for who’s allowed in the Longworth House is very, very low.”
Myles’ husband and business partner David Ayllon said that she was there covering impeachment proceedings for a new app called Happs. The drag queen was scouted at a show last weekend, he said.
I’m flipping my wig over the high-energy proceedings today. Tensions are high, and the bar for who’s allowed in the Longworth House is very, very low.
“I do know they were looking for a comedian who could improv on the spot and deliver the news in a fun way,” he said.
Impeachment proceedings follow alleged misconduct by the president.
Myles has various accolades to he name. She is the title-holder of Miss Fish NYC 2014, a pageant to find the “fishiest” queen in New York, and she has also been featured on RuPaul’s What’s the T podcast.
People on Twitter were overjoyed to see Myles at impeachment proceedings.

Myles made her appearance as investigations began into alleged misconduct by Donald Trump that have led Democrats to initiate impeachment proceedings.
Trump has repeatedly tried to block the investigation – however, his efforts have failed, as the public investigation is set to be broadcast live in the United States. Trump has denied wrongdoing.
Speaking at the launch of proceedings today, Democratic chair Adam Schiff said the hearing would ask whether Trump tried to exploit the vulnerability of Ukraine, The Guardian reports.
