Considering the UK tumbled to the bottom of the board this year, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK fans are now signing by the thousands a petition to have the Frock Destroyers represent the nation at next year’s Eurovision.

Baga Chipz, Blu Hydrangea and Divina de Campo may very well become the stars of the singing contest in 2020 after more than 5,500 people signed a petition gagging for them to represent the UK.

This comes after the girl group’s cover of ‘Break Up (Bye Bye)’ soared up the iTunes charts after last week’s episode.

Frock Destroyers on track to become Eurovision superstars.

Within a few hours, their cover climbed to number three ahead of Selena Gomez’s ‘Lose You To Love Me’ and even Ariana Grande’s remix remix of Lizzo’s ‘Good As Hell’.

Figures from the Official Charts Company released on Monday revealed the makeshift drag band were on track to place at number 19 in Friday’s chart.

The petition, penned by Drag Race UK super-fan Wolfgang Ludwig, reads: “The UK has long suffered dreadful entries that are not a true representation of our country, providing dreadful results.”

“Recently we have seen one of the best things to happen to UK TV and pop music, RuPaul’s Drag Race’s very own Frock Destroyers smashing it with their song ‘Break Up (Bye Bye)’ currently in the top 3 of the UK charts.”

Ludwig goes onto describe Baga Chipz as a “true representation of British humour in every sense”.

While Hydrangea “represents a clear divide in levels of progress when it comes to acceptance of diversity between UK and Ireland and not letting it stop you be who you are”.

De Campo is the show’s “loveable ‘misfit’ representing all those that feel they don’t belong somewhere”.

From the looks of Twitter, the Frock Destroyer would easily score douze points:

The petition concluded: “Because of Brexit the message has been that diversity and equality loses, let’s change that with Frock Destroyers.”

We have no choice but to stan.
