Lizzo formally credits Twitter user on hit song ‘Truth Hurts’ because she’s 100% that b***h

Pop sensation Lizzo has formally credited a little-known British singer on her hit track ‘Truth Hurts’.

We all know Lizzo is “100% that b***h” as the song acknowledges, but now Mina Lioness will also take credit for the iconic line.

The singer took to Twitter to say: “I just took a DNA Test, turns out I’m a credited writer for the number one song on Billboard.”

This comes two years after Lioness originally tweeted: “I did a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that b***h”, a version of which ended up in ‘Truth Hurts’.

Lizzo also addressed the situation on an Instagram post writing, “While working on a demo, I saw a meme that resonated with me, a meme that made me feel like 100% that b***h… I later used the line in ‘Truth Hurts’.”

She continued: “I later learned that a tweet inspired the meme. The creator of the tweet is the person I am sharing my success with.”

Truth Hurts… but the truth shall set you free.

The singer also took the time to dismiss two producers, Justin and Jeremiah Raisen, who are trying to claim royalties from the song.

They claim the melody and lyrics of ‘Truth Hurts’ were taken from a song they wrote with Lizzo in 2017 called ‘Healthy’.

She said: “They had nothing to do with the line or how I chose to sing it.”

Lizzo’s lawyer told Pitchfork that a lawsuit has been filed against the producers to establish that they have no claim to the song.

While Lizzo faced criticism earlier this year when she filed a trademark for “100% that bitch”, there is certainly no bad blood with Lioness anymore.

The singer tweeted: “I want to publicly thank @Lizzo and her entire management team for embracing me and reaching out.”

She continued: “I have received nothing but love from her through out communications, so I truly do thank her.”
