Brandon T. Jackson was on 'thin ice' with God for playing gay character in Tropic Thunder

Brandon T Jackson has said he was on “thin ice” with God when he played a gay character in Tropic Thunder.

“I think I was on thin ice then with the Father, but he had his mercy and his grace was there,” the actor and comedian told TMZ.

He continued: “But I don’t regret anything in my journey.”

While he doesn’t necessarily regret anything in his journey, Jackson was quick to explain that his film roles led him away from God’s path.

Brandon T Jackson believes he was cursed after dressing in women’s clothes for Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son.

The Hebrew Israelite actor also spoke extensively about how his role in Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son – where he dressed up as a woman – resulted in God cursing him.

Jackson explained that the Torah prohibits men from wearing women’s clothes.

“I broke that law, and when you break a law you get punished,” the 35-year-old said.

I think I was on thin ice then with the Father, but he had his mercy and his grace was there.

“So nothing went right – not just in my career – in my personal life. See, people try to see your career, but the personal life thing was more important. It’s who you are, and my blood line of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob never allowed us to do these things.”

When pressed on the curse, Jackson urged his interviewers to look up the Torah and read about how you can be “cursed” if you don’t “follow all the commandments that the Father says to do”.

“We are not able to go against certain law structures,” he said.

Jackson played a gay character in the 2008 blockbuster Tropic Thunder.

Jackson played Alpa Chino in 2008 film Tropic Thunder in which his character accidentally reveals to a group of men that he has feelings for a man called Lance.

In the scene, the character is asked who he has feelings for. When asked if he could ask the person on a date, he says that the situation is “complicated”.

He is roundly mocked by the other characters after revealing that he has feelings for a man and promptly denies his sexuality.

Jackson’s devout religious faith may not come as too much of a surprise – both of his parents are pastors and he grew up in an extremely religious background.

It is unclear exactly when Jackson became a Hebrew Israelite, but a video was uploaded to YouTube in 2016 in which he announced his new faith.
