On the last UK date of the Sweetener tour, Ariana Grande was surprised by fans who organised to wave rainbow flags during her final songs.

The ‘Into You’ singer has a very large LGBT+ fan base, she regularly calls out homophobia, publicly supports her gay brother Frankie and also played at Manchester Pride earlier this year.

Grande and her dancers have been waving Pride flags throughout the 81 date tour and some fans thought it would be a cute idea to join in.

Organising on Twitter, fans decided that they wanted to wave rainbow flags during ‘thank u, next’ and ‘Break Free’, the last two songs of the show.

The motivation behind the idea was to wave the flags to celebrate Grande, themselves and each other.

“For those going to the london show on the 16th please bring a pride flag with you for break free/thank u next. we wanna make europe closing night so special for ariana and we feel like this idea is pretty damn special and cute. please rt to spread the word!”

The tweet had more than 1,000 retweets with lots of fans joining in with buying flags.

Some fans even went as far as buying extra flags to share with others around them who didn’t have their own.

The plan paid off because the outcome was a really magical moment Ariana Grande and her fans could share together.

Sweetener is Grande’s fourth tour and its final leg finished at The O2 in London on Wednesday, October 16.
