Brie Larson asked Tessa Thompson a seemingly innocent question about ‘topping lesbians’ and broke Twitter

Brie Larson whipped Twitter into a frenzy when she asked her Marvel co-star Tessa Thompson about topping lesbians.

Since Larson made her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut in 2019’s Captain Marvel, fans have been clamouring for a same-sex romance between her character and Thompson’s Valkyrie.

The announcement that Valkyrie will soon come out as the first openly-LGBT+ hero in the MCU only added fuel to the fire, with both actors joining in with the Marvel-Valkyrie shipping.

Over the weekend things took a graphic turn when Larson and Thomson made a joint appearance at an ACE Comic Con panel.

The Avengers stars were asked by a moderator what they’d like to see next in the MCU when an audience member shouted: “I just want to see lesbians.”

Thomson agreed, to the delight of the crowd. But it was Larson who won the biggest cheer of the night when she was asked to round off the panel with a closing remark.

“How do I top lesbians?” she asked.

Without missing a beat, Thompson replied: “I’m sure the lesbians could show you, right after this panel.”

Twitter, of course, couldn’t handle the exchange.

During the panel event Thompson, who came out as being attracted to men and women in 2018, directly addressed her LGBT+ fans.

“If you are coming out, if you have, I see you. If you have reasons why you’re not ready, I see you too. You are loved, you are supported,” she said.

The actor spoke of her pride in being able to play Valkyrie as a queer character.

“I hope we get to the space where we see so much representation that we don’t have to congratulate anybody, because we know that it just exists and it’s not going away.”
