The judges for RuPaul’s Drag Race Canada have been announced – and fans are beside themselves
With RuPaul’s Drag Race heading up to the great white north, the first Canadian queen to compete on the show is now going to judge it.
Brooke Lynn Hytes has made herstory today after she was announced as one of three judges on the panel for Drag Race Canada and took to Twitter to share her delight.
The season 11 runner-up tweeted: “I remember a year ago I was in the World Of Wonder [creators behind Drag Race] offices, just after filming season 11, and I said ‘I want a Canadian Drag Race… and I want to be a judge!’
“Well, dreams come true! I couldn’t be more excited and honored to be a permanent judge on Canada’s Drag Race!”

Sitting next to Hytes on the Drag Race Canada panel will be actor Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and America’s Next Top Model mentor Stacey McKenzie, as stated in a news release.
RuPaul hand-picked the judges himself.
Mama Ru herself said in the release: “I’m thrilled to reveal my hand-picked judges for Canada’s Drag Race.
“By the power vested in me, I command them to go forth and be my ‘Judge Judys’ of the North.”
“I have complete confidence in their ability to choose Canada’s first drag superstar!”
All three of the judges are sufficiently buzzed to helm the show, and each expressed their excitement with all the most Canadian-infused drag puns possible.
“Condragulations to my Canadians Queens!” Hytes said, according to the release.
“I’m so excited as the time has finally come for the world to see the talent that Canada has to offer.
“Start those engines… and may the best queen win!”
“I am beyond thrilled to be part of bringing this cultural phenomenon up north!” said Bowyer-Chapman.
“I cannot wait to see what the upcoming legendary Canadian queens are going to serve to bring the house down boots!”
