The first trailer for Drag Race UK.

Drag Race UK's Cheryl Hole launches into a levitating death drop (BBC Three).

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK has released the first trailer for the season that lands in less than two weeks.

The promo starts with the British cast re-enacting a classic soap scene with a twist – someone stole The Vivienne’s facekini.

The ten queens are interrupted by RuPaul hanging from a mirror warning them to “prepare for the ride of your life”.

The kitschy kitchen then somersaults into a queer disco powerhouse.

The UK queens pout, strut and sashay around the neon room, showcasing singing wigs, glitzy outfits and a levitating death drop.

The trailer has had a warm reception on Twitter, to say the least.

Laila McQueen, star of RuPaul’s Drag Race season eight, declared it “one of the best RuPaul’s Drag Race promos ever”.

While drag commentator Jakeyonce said: “I swear Drag Race UK is gonna save the franchise. This promo ATE.”

Who are the UK queens?

Baga Chipz, Blu Hydrangea, Divina De Campo, Crystal, Sum Ting Wong, Cheryl Hole, Gothy Kendoll, Vinegar Strokes, Scaredy Kat and The Vivienne will all compete for the prestigious title of Britain’s first drag superstar.

Who is judging Drag Race UK?

RuPaul and Michelle Visage will take up their usual seats on the judges desk, along with TV stars Graham Norton and Alan Carr who will share a regular spot.

Andrew Garfield, Michaela Coel, Maisie Williams, Geri Horner, Jade Thirwall, Cheryl, Twiggy, Stacey Dooley, Lorraine Kelly and brothers AJ and Curtis Pritchard will also have a go at critiquing the queens on their charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK premiers on BBC iPlayer at 8pm on Thursday October 3rd.
