Grey’s Anatomy actor fired for using a homophobic slur comes out… as a Trump supporter
A former Grey’s Anatomy actor fired for using a homophobic slur has revealed that he is a Trump supporter.
Isaiah Washington, who was kicked off Grey’s Anatomy in 2007, said that he supports the #WalkAway campaign, which encourages people to leave the Democratic party and join other political alternatives, including the Republicans.
He went on to say that he believed some people in Hollywood are scared to say that they have conservative views.
Former Grey’s Anatomy star backs US president Donald Trump.
“You got a lot of conservative or centric libertarian-minded people that really care about other people but they are terrified to come out of the closet and say anything that’s not in line with the Democratic party,” he told Fox Nation’s Nuff Said.
The 56-year-old previously supported the Democratic party but renounced his backing in April in a series of tweets.

“Walking away is… a sacrifice,” Washington told Nuff Said.
“There’s a risk and there’s a penalty for it but you have to walk away when it matters… and the reason I chose to walk away from the Democratic party… is that something doesn’t feel right.”
Washington added that the Democrats are “not doing enough” for the black community.

He went on to praise Trump for backing the First Step Act, a piece of legislation which, if passed, would mean that prisoners could get reduced sentences for good behaviour.
“I’m going to support the policy over the person,” Washington added in the interview with Nuff Said.

Washington was dropped from his role as cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Preston Burke in hit show Grey’s Anatomy in June 2007, following an on set argument with co-star TR Knight.
He went on to have a brief guest appearance in season 10 of the show in 2014.
Knight alleged that he had called him a “faggot”, and later said on the Ellen DeGeneres Show that “everybody heard him”.
In 2013, Washington said that he “lost everything” over the incident.
