You won’t be able to unsee this video of Trump and Pence ‘starring’ in RuPaul’s Drag Race
Chat show host Jimmy Kimmel has released a mock video of US president Donald Trump and vice president Mike Pence appearing in their ‘favourite’ programme RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The hilarious video, which isn’t exactly authentic, uses deepfake technology to turn Trump into RuPaul – while his trusty doppelgänger sidekick Pence takes on the role of Brooke Lynn Hytes.
Kimmel’s video, uploaded to YouTube on Thursday, September 5, features dubbed over recordings from the real RuPaul’s Drag Race.
‘Fake’ Trump and Pence star in drag show.
The Trump version of RuPaul wears a ostentatious and voluptuous blond wig twinned with a lime green dress.
The look is finished off with a hefty orange tan.
Kimmel released the video as part of a skit about the rise of deepfake videos in the lead up to the 2020 presidential election on his show Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
Deepfake videos are artificially modified to make it look like a person is doing or saying something that didn’t actually happen in reality.
The Pence knock-off of Brooke Lynn Hytes, meanwhile, is dressed in an elegant gown made up of synthetic silver leaves with an eye-catching head piece.
Clips from genuine Trump campaign rallies are interspersed throughout the video, as if the pro-Republican crowds are the audience.
The pranks on Pence and Trump continue.
Kimmel is not the only person to recently poke fun at the US president and his team.
Trump’s deputy Pence, who opposes equal marriage, was given a warm LGBT+ welcome on his official visit to Iceland on Wednesday, September 4.
A line of rainbow flags even greeted Pence next to the historic Höfði House, the location of a famous summit between Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev.
The teen’s post on Twitter subsequently went viral and there were reportedly notable numbers of empty seats at the Trump event.
