Kristen Stewart, Indya Moore play Shakespeare’s Juliet in Pirelli Calendar

The 2020 Pirelli Calendar stars Kristen Stewart and Indya Moore and is themed around Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

Shot by legendary photographer Paolo Roversi, next year’s Pirelli Calendar is inspired by the Shakespearean drama.

Roversi’s project looked at the “intersection of love, strength, youth and beauty embodied by its female protagonist.”

Nine different actors and singers were invited to play the role of Juliet in a casting-session style shoot.

Indya Moore, known for their role as Angel Evangelista on FX’s Pose, was one of those chosen to be in the Pirelli calendar.

The actor, 24, was listed by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2019.

Moore, who has modelled since the age of 15, made headlines in May 2019 when they became the first transgender person to appear on the cover of US Elle.

Stewart, 29, quietly came out in 2015 after being photographed kissing her then-girlfriend.

Appearing on Saturday Night Live in 2017, she clarified: “I’m, like, so gay dude!”

She has previously spoken about how coming out affected her, saying, “It opened my life up and I’m so much happier.”

Roversi says of his calendar, “I am still searching for my Juliet and I will be searching all my life. Because Juliet is a dream.”
