One Million Moms brands Whole Foods ‘absolute filth’ over drag queen event
The latest target of the anti-LGBT group One Million Moms is the American supermarket chain Whole Foods, which is supposedly “indoctrinating” children through a drag queen storybook hour.
Whole Foods proudly sponsored the storytime hour, which was held at Atlanta City Hall for Atlanta Pride after the local library decided to halt all promotion of the event.
The event was also sponsored by Atlanta’s NFL and NBA teams.
Drag queen Miss Terra Cotta Sugarbaker read children It’s Okay to be Different and Mary Had a Little Glam. The event was attended by dozens of people from Atlanta’s LGBT+ community and their families.

This provoked One Million Moms, who claimed: “A retailer that once promoted organics and clean food is now saturated in absolute filth, exploiting America’s children to be ‘groomed’ by drag queens.
“Whole Foods Market is now sponsoring a Drag Queen Story Hour event to indoctrinate children into transgenderism and homosexuality. Their goal is to normalise the LGBTQ lifestyle.”
They insist that such events “involve men dressed up as garishly adorned women who read LGBTQ-themed books to young children under the guise of performing a public service.”
They even claim that “some drag queens have admitted their goal is to ‘groom’ the next generation.”
They are now encouraging their followers to boycott Whole Foods, saying: “If you shop at Whole Foods Market, you are also supporting child exploitation, which this corporation apparently contributes to and endorses.”
A petition in protest at the event has been signed by around 7,500 people.
One Million Moms’ ongoing anti-LGBT+ campaign
One Million Moms is renowned for its string of ridiculous boycotts, and has previously attacked H&M, Campbell’s soup, Disney, Scholastic books, JC Penney, Toy Story 4, and the children’s cartoon show Arthur and Friends.
The group is a creation of the American Family Association, a fundamentalist Protestant organisation which opposes LGBT+ rights and expression, pornography, and abortion. Their 11-strong board contains no women.
Despite the name, One Million Moms only has around 3,000 followers on Twitter.
