Gay-owned club to host ‘$35,000 ticketed fundraiser for Mike Pence’

A gay-owned private club in Aspen Colorado will reportedly host a fundraiser for Mike Pence on Monday (July 22) and tickets cost $35,000 a couple.
According to local reports, the Caribou Club is owned by two gay men.
Vice chair of Pitkin County Republicans, Bob Jenkins, said Friday that he expects about 25 couples to attend the VIP reception with Pence.
At the time Jenkins said the location of the event would not be made public,
“This event is an intimate high dollar reception, and we would like you to participate if possible,” Jenkins wrote in an invitation sent out to local Republicans. “Additionally, please quietly spread the word.
“Additional details will be provided upon RSVP.”

“If people know, there will be protests,” he said. “Why do we Republicans want to create extra costs for the city of Aspen?”
The Vice President made headlines in June when he voiced his support for the Trump administration’s decision to reject US embassies’ requests to fly the rainbow flag during Pride month.
“It’s the right decision,” Pence said to NBC News.
Pence also confirmed that at least four US embassies that had requested permission to fly the rainbow flag during Pride month have had their requests rejected.
The State Department said, in response to the requests, that only the US flag should fly outside US embassies around the world. “I support that,” Pence said.
“As the president said on the night we were elected, we’re proud to be able to serve every American,” Pence said, when asked by NBC News about what he would say to the LGBT+ community, which has pointed out the apparent double standard between Trump’s Pride month tweet and the denial of embassies requests to fly rainbow flags.
“We both feel that way very passionately, but when it comes to the American flagpole, and American embassies, and capitals around the world, one American flag flies,” Pence said.
