RuPaul’s Drag Race UK judge Alan Carr has hinted at what fans should expect when the series lands on BBC Three later this year.

BBC bosses are keeping details about the upcoming series tightly under wraps.

All that is known so far is that RuPaul will be joined by his long-time sidekick Michelle Visage, as well as Carr and his fellow chat show host Graham Norton.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Carr revealed that the judges were under strict instructions while on set.

“It was like, no phones, the most securitied thing ever,” he said on Thursday (May 2).

“It was like Fort Knox. It was amazing to be part of something like that and no one is going to be disappointed.

“I’m going to get in to trouble even for saying that. It’s really good, that’s all I can say.”

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK judges announced

Carr and Norton were revealed as judges for the eight-part series back in February.

“Becoming part of the Drag Race family makes me ridiculously happy! I can’t wait to see what the UK drag queens bring to the party, but they better weeeeerk,” said Norton, who appeared on All Stars 2 in the US in 2016.

Carr added: “Wow! To be sat next to Michelle Visage and Mama Ru as a guest judge on possibly one of my all-time favourite shows ever is a dream come true. I can’t wait to see what the UK queens have got in store—it’s going to be sickening.”

Shortly after the announcement, Carr appeared to confirm that legendary drag performer Paul O’Grady would also be involved in the series.

“I found out that Paul O’Grady’s a judge on it, and so is Graham Norton,” he told BBC Radio 2’s Zoe Ball.

“But isn’t it funny—no one said a word [to each other]. All keeping it secret.”

The comedian later clarified that he had read about O’Grady’s involvement on Twitter.

A BBC spokesperson said: “In his excitement, Alan may have got over-enthusiastic.

“As brilliant as Paul O’Grady is, the other judges on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK have yet to be confirmed.”

RuPaul films Drag Race in London

RuPaul has been spotted around London over the past month as filming on the series commenced.

In April he posed with Michelle Obama and Adele at The O2, backstage at the former first lady’s An Intimate Conversation with... show.

Around the same time, Ru appeared on the Drag Race Thailand finale via video link.
