Queer Eye‘s Jonathan Van Ness will kick off Seattle Pride by officiating a same-sex wedding.

Seattle Pride launched a competition to find a couple to take up the fabulous wedding opportunity at the Elysian Capitol Hill Brewery.

The chosen couple’s wedding will take place on June 4, which Van Ness notes is the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Masterpiece Cakeshop ruling against a gay couple who were denied a wedding cake.

The Queer Eye star explained: “Last year, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of a cake shop owner who wouldn’t bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

“Thankfully, there are so many businesses that do support the LGBTQ community, because it shouldn’t matter who you are, or who you love.

“Love is love. Exactly one year after the court ruling, I’m hosting an unforgettable wedding celebration. See you in Seattle!”

To win a chance to be married by Van Ness, couples must make a 60-second Instagram video telling their love story.

The winners will receive a wedding ceremony and reception for up to twenty guests, with the legal wedding “to be officiated by Jonathan Van Ness.”

Winners will get a full wedding package, with a ceremony performed by Jonathan Van Ness

The full package includes things every wedding needs: a wedding cake, make-up and hairstyline, food and entertainment, flowers, a photographer, videographer, and a hotel stay for the couple’s wedding night.

Van Ness said: “I’m so excited to team up with Elysian Brewing during Seattle Pride to share the message that all people should be free and proud to express themselves as they are.

“I can’t wait for June!”

Kevin Toovey, President of Seattle Pride, said: “We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off Seattle Pride festivities, than with this contest in partnership with Elysian Brewing.

“We can’t wait to celebrate the wedding of the summer with one lucky couple come June!”

While weddings bells may be ringing, Van Ness is some way off tying the knot himself, after confirming his breakup with long-term partner Wilco Froneman in January.

Announcing the split, Van Ness wrote “cheaters never prosper” in an Instagram post directed at his ex.

Quoting Ariana Grande, Van Ness told his 2.7 million followers: “She taught me love, she taught me patience, how she handles pain, that s**t’s amazing.

“I’ve loved and I’ve lost but that’s not what I see because look what I found ain’t no need for searching, rounding out my 2018 with a very gorg THANK U NEXT. #selflove ️‍ ️‍ ️‍ ”

He added: “Please don’t go in on Wilco, he doesn’t need the anger & I don’t want to see him suffer so just know I’m all good & sometimes people break up — Love you all so much .”
