Cara Delevingne has slammed a homophobic troll for saying that her girlfriend Ashley Benson should find a “strong handsome religious man.”

The exchange took place in the comments on an Instagram video which reportedly showed a woman tying her friend’s hands with rope and walking her like a dog.

The account that uploaded the video claimed that the video showed model and actress Cara Delevingne abusing Benson.

The homophobic commenter said Ashley Benson ‘needs’ a man

“You can see @caradelevingne tying up and slapping a woman,” the Instagram user wrote. “The video is from last week. EVERY week there is something disrespectful towards @ashleybenson. I’m so glad Ashley is not around Cara anymore,” the comment read.

They also said that Delevingne is “disrespectful” and said “Ashley deserves better.”

Another man commented on the video and said: “Ashley I know you are here.”

“You are f***ing disgusting! If you have a problem with true love then come and say this s**t to my face instead pathetically hating through Instagram.”

In a follow up comment, he continued: “I’m serious you need to stay away from that devil and never go back I’m sure many strong handsome religious man would take you back in a heartbeat.

“You are not like this you aren’t gay you love men and you need one,” he finished.

Benson initially replied to the comment and told the man to mind his own business and said: “Stop making things up.”

However, Delevingne then had her say in a fiery comment directed at both accounts.

Cara Delevingne: ‘You are f***ing disgusting’

“You are f***ing disgusting! If you have a problem with true love then come and say this s**t to my face instead pathetically hating through Instagram,” Delevingne wrote.

She continued: “I genuinely feel sorry for you both, you are clearly not happy with your lives and have far too much time on your hands. Maybe get a hobby that doesn’t involve being homophobic and hating others for being happy.”

The account that uploaded the video has since been made private.

While Delevingne and Benson tend to keep their relationship private, they have been spotted together on numerous occasions since last August.

In March, stylist Jami Mizrahi posted a photo of the pair cuddling in the back of a car following the Chanel Paris Fashion Week, giving fans a rare glimpse into the relationship.

Delevingne is also an actress and has appeared in a number of films and television shows.

The bisexual performer has dated a number of high-profile women in recent years. In 2015, she announced that she was in a relationship with Annie Clark, who is best known by her stage name St. Vincent. They later split up in September 2016.
