AOC invites Queer Eye’s Bobby Berk to renovate her office

Queer Eye’s Bobby Berk has reached out to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and offered to renovate her office—and it looks as though she wants to take him up on the offer.

In a tweet, Berk reached out to the politician—who is the youngest female member of Congress—to say: “I’m in DC all week girl! Put me to work! ‘Have time… will work for democracy!’”

Ocasio-Cortez quickly responded with: “Swing by our office!

She continued: “We’ve barely had time to hang anything up, three of my staffers are expecting babies, and we’ve got a back pad/warehouse type situation out here. SOS!

“The good news is that people are leaving a rainbow of positive post-its on our wall so that’s cute.”

The Queer Eye and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez collaboration may not happen just yet

Berk—who does interior design on Queer Eye—initially seemed up for the collaboration, responding with: “Yay! Would love too! [sic].”

Sadly, Queer Eye and Ocasio-Cortez fans will be disappointed to hear that the pair aren’t going to team up just yet, it seems. Berk later followed up and said: “Actually looks like I can’t.”

While the Congresswoman and Queer Eye interior designer may not be teaming up right now, that doesn’t mean that the pair will never work together—and fans aren’t willing to let it drop either. Many have been responding to the conversation on Twitter to express their joy at the prospect of Berk and AOC working together.

One Twitter user said: “QEs4: Bobby Berk singlehandedly fixes all US infrastructure, Tan begs congresspeople make an effort, Antoni makes 1st meal WH has seen in 3 years, JvN gets Trump hair implants (and personality/soul implant), and Karamo takes down the patriarchy. Who’s watching?”

Bobby Berk has been busy promoting the third season of Queer Eye

It’s been a busy few weeks for Bobby Berk and his fellow Queer Eye co-workers, who have been busy promoting the third season of the hit Netflix show.

Berk has also been busy bringing attention to Brunei’s new anti-gay laws which came into force yesterday which will see gay people stoned to death.

Meanwhile, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has made a name for herself as an LGBT+ ally. When she was elected the United State’s youngest congresswoman last year, she thanked the LGBT+ community for getting her to that point.

She has also advocated for the release of transgender whistleblower Chelsea Manning from her purported solitary confinement.

Tweeting on 2 April, Ocasio-Cortez said: “Chelsea Manning has been trapped in solitary confinement for refusing to answer questions before a grand jury. Solitary confinement is torture.”
