Sam Smith has stripped down to show off his naked body, after opening up about his years of battles with weight issues.

The singer stripped down to his underwear on his Instagram story on Monday (April 1) while on a break from his world tour.

Sharing a shirtless selfie in a hotel bathroom after a performance in Chile, he wrote: “Feeling bloated and gross after my flight so thought I’d post a mirror selfie of my sexy bloated boobies coz we are friends. Finally.”

The singer shared a video of himself dancing half-naked in the mirror, writing: “Do the bloat dance with me.”

He then proceeded to strip down to his underwear, posing seductively and captioning the image: “Bond girl.”

The singer is not technically wrong, as he recorded the theme for 2015 James Bond film Spectre.

The “Stay with Me” singer has been candid in the past about his struggles with weight and body issues, undergoing a rapid period of weight loss after the success of debut album In the Lonely Hour.

Sam Smith: Being naked in public is difficult for me

In February, Smith opened up about how difficult it is for him to strip off in public.

He said: “In the past if I have ever done a photo shoot with so much as a T-shirt on, I have starved myself for weeks in advance and then picked and prodded at every picture and then normally taken the picture down.

“Yesterday I decided to fight the f**k back. Reclaim my body and stop trying to change this chest and these hips and these curves that my mum and dad made and love so unconditionally.”

He added: “Some may take this as narcissistic and showing off but if you knew how much courage it took to do this and the body trauma I have experienced as a kid you wouldn’t think those things.”

The singer also spoke to Jameela Jamil for body-positivity campaign I Weigh.

He explained: “I haven’t really found many men talking about this. Even doing this chat feels kind of weird, because guys don’t speak about this that much on a big scale.”

Smith added: “It’s the basis of all my sadness… literally everything I’ve ever been sad about is my weight. I struggle with it every day.”
