BTS rapper Kim Namjoon, also known as RM, has prompted mass excitement from queer fans by performing in front of the bisexual flag’s colours.

The South Korean star dropped the video for new song “Persona” on March 27, as a trailer for the upcoming BTS album Map of the Soul: Persona.

Many fans saw this use of bisexual lighting as the star either showing his support bisexual people or subtly revealing he’s bisexual.

One person wrote: “OK BUT NAMJOON RAPPING IN FRONT OF A BISEXUAL FLAG I KNEW HE IS OUR MAN,” while another said: “HE. IS. RAPPING. IN. FRONT. OF. THE. BISEXUAL. FLAG. #MAP_OF_THE_SOUL_PERSONA.”

This was a common sentiment, as tweeters held up Namjoon as a hero for what they saw as support for the bisexual community.

One commenter wrote: “namjoon said: bisexual rights!”

Another said: “‘thoughts on the bisexual community?'” before answering as the BTS star, writing: “namjoon: i respect it and i am the leader. bi rights!”

A different user commented: “NAMJOON SAID BISEXUAL LIVES MATTER.”

And yet another fan seemingly discarded their love for South Korean girl group Blackpink in favour of the BTS rapper, tweeting: “i lied when i said blackpink gave me my rights… really it was namjoon.

“It was him all along. he said ‘miranda, my bisexual child, here are your rights.’ long live president kim namjoon!!”

Others simply hailed RM as a bisexual icon, like the commenter who wrote: “NAMJOON OUR BISEXUAL KING!!!”

Another said: “Don’t mind me just rt’ing all the bts bisexual stuff I see. Kim Namjoon, our bi icon.”

Some blurred the line between Namjoon being a bisexual icon and simply being bisexual, but the overarching point was that they felt represented.

One fan tweeted: “kim namjoon rapping about who he is in front of a bisexual flag is a big bisexual flex,” while another said: “namjoon is, and i cannot stress this enough, bisexual.”
