Adele and Jennifer Lawrence drop in to New York gay bar

New York partygoers were pleasantly surprised when Adele and Jennifer Lawrence popped into a gay bar in Greenwich Village on Friday night (March 22).

Several videos shared on Twitter show the “Hello” singer and the “Hunger Games” actor partying in  New York City’s Pieces in Christopher Street.

In one clip, Adele, who introduces herself as a “stay at home mum,”  is shown on stage.

One of the drag queens hosting the event asks Adele:: “Are you still ready to mingle and have a great time with the gays tonight?”

She replies: “Well obviously.”

Lawrence, meanwhile, can be seen in another video smiling with her arms in the air.

Pieces opened in 1993 and bills itself as “one of New York City’s oldest gay bars.”

Twitter users share stories of partying with Adele and Jennifer Lawrence

Fans uploaded photos and videos of the moment on Twitter.

“I just partied with Jennifer Lawrence and Adele…. I am speechless,” one person wrote on Twitter.

Another said: “I can’t believe @Adele and Jennifer Lawrence are at @Piecesbar RIGHT NOW OMG.”

A third wrote: “I’M AT PIECES AND ADELE AND JENNIFER LAWRENCE ARE HERE LMFAOO.”

And a fourth exclaimed: “JENNIFER LAWRENCE AND ADELE WENT THERE TOGETHER, UGH FRIENDSHIP GOALS.”

Adele and Lawrence are both outspoken supporters of LGBT+ rights.

In April last year, it was revealed that Adele got ordained so that she could marry comedian Alan Carr and his partner Paul Drayton.

In December 2015, Lawrence criticised Kim Davis, a former country clerk in Kentucky, for her opposition of equal marriage, describing her as that “lady who makes me embarrassed to be from Kentucky.”
