Jameela Jamil calls out Piers Morgan over Sam Smith non-binary jibes

Jameela Jamil has very publicly put down Piers Morgan, after he mocked Sam Smith for coming out as non-binary in an interview with her.
After the “Promises” singer opened up about his gender identity in an interview with Jamil, Piers Morgan claimed on Good Morning Britain that Smith “can’t work out if he’s male or female, whatever,” before adding: “I’m now identifying as Sam Smith, so I can get his royalties.”
Although Smith did not publicly respond to the TV host’s comments, The Good Place star Jameela Jamil delivered a stinging rebuke on Twitter.

She wrote: “LOL. Of course England’s biggest s**t stain has something mean to say about it.

After the response got more than 25,000 likes, Morgan again mocked gender identity and fluidity by saying: “Appalling that you just assume I am identifying as male tonight.”

The comment earned him a second viral put-down from Jamil in just hours, with the star adding: “You’re right, it is extraordinary I identify you as any kind of human being at all you giant pile of wank. ”
When Morgan replied “I’d rather be wank than woke, luv.,” Jamil added: “Mission accomplished hun. ”
Sam Smith: I’m not male or female
In an interview with Jamil for her body-positive I Weigh campaign, Smith had spoken about his gender identity.
Speaking about gender identity, the singer said: “You are just you. You are a mixture of all different things. You are your own special creation. That’s how I see it.

“I’m not male or female. I think I float somewhere in between.
“When I saw the word ‘non-binary’, and I read into it, and I heard these people speaking and I was like, ‘that is me’.”
The singer added: “I’ve always had a little bit of a war going within my body and my mind. I do think like a woman sometimes, in my head.”
