Courtney Act to go on Dancing with the Stars with male partner

Drag artist Courtney Act is set to appear on Australia’s Dancing with the Stars with a male partner.
Act, whose real name is Shane Jenek, was the final contestant to be announced in the 11-strong line-up for the celebrity-studded dance competition.
The drag queen, who made her name name on RuPaul’s Drag Race, revealed the news on Twitter and jokingly referred to her costume mishap while entering Celebrity Big Brother in January 2018, which she went on to win.

“Imma be twinkling round the floor on Dancing With The Stars!!!,” Act posted on Twitter on Tuesday (January 29).
“Can’t wait to do all the sexy dances and wear all the pretty dresses (hopefully no wardrobe malfunctions this time).”

Other celebrities set to appear on the show include children’s author Cassandra Thorburn, former Neighbours star Olympia Valance and actor Samuel Johnson.

Australia’s Dancing with the Stars will air on February 18 on Channel 10, with Grant Denyer and Amanda Keller as hosts.

The show previously aired for five series on Channel Seven but was cancelled in 2015.
In December, Act praised the “amazing” drag queens and “gender bending giants” that inspired her when she was growing up.
She took to Twitter to discuss her drag idols, including Paul O’Grady’s drag persona Lily Savage and Irish-English entertainer Danny La Rue.
I’ve seen lots of comments about how it was about time there was a drag queen on mainstream TV, naturally I agree, but I’m certainly not the first,” she wrote.
“I stand on the shoulder (don’t worry, I took my heels off) of so many gender bending giants. Lily Savage, @JulianClary, Grayson Perry (@Alan_Measles), @DameEdnaEverage, @eddieizzard and of course Danny La Rue!
