Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper sing Shallow live for the first time

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper Duet Shallow live for the first time.

Bradley Cooper joined Lady Gaga on stage in Las Vegas on Saturday (January 26) to perform their A Star is Born duet “Shallow” live for the first time.

Fans attending Lady Gaga’s Enigma show in Las Vegas were delighted to see the performers reunited.

Videos of the performance posted on social media show Cooper sitting on a stool to begin the song, with Gaga squatting next to him, looking up to him and nodding in encouragement as he sang.

The two locked eyes during the performance of Cooper’s verse, with Gaga eventually looking at the crowd with a smile as if to say: “Can you believe he just did that?”

The singer then took a seat at the piano and began playing as Cooper stood up and leaned over the instrument, joining her in singing the chorus.

As Gaga vocalised, Cooper moved around the stage, exhorting the crowd to applaud her performance and playing air guitar. He then sat next to Gaga at the piano, hugging her as they sang the second chorus.

Sharing a picture of the performance on Twitter, one fan wrote: “As if Lady Gaga’s spellbinding 2 hour greatest hits chronicling Enigma wasn’t epic enough, the encore involved her pulling Bradley Cooper out of the audience to duet on Shallow. Absolutely unforgettable.”

Another person who was in the audience wrote on Twitter: “I think I just had a heart attack” before posting a picture of Cooper, Gaga and the other performers taking a bow.

Gaga usually performs her award-winning song “Shallow,” which is played three times in the course of A Star is Born, as the encore at the Enigma show.

The single won a Golden Globe for Best Original Song and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song as well as for four Grammys, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

A second live performance of the “Shallow” duet may be forthcoming. According to Variety, “Shallow” was selected to be one of two Oscar-nominated songs that will be performed live at the Academy Awards ceremony on February 24, along with another duet—Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “All the Stars” from the film Black Panther.
