Lady Gaga calls Mike Pence the ‘worst’ Christian for anti-LGBT stance

Lady Gaga coronavirus one world: together at home

Lady Gaga has called out the “f***ing” US President Donald Trump, and slammed Vice President Mike Pence as the “worst” Christian for his anti-LGBT+ views.

Gaga called out Trump and his government during her residency at the MGM Park Theater in Las Vegas on Sunday night (January 20).

The Trump administration has been in partial shutdown since December 22, after the president demanded $5.7 billion in federal funds for a U.S.–Mexico border wall in a bid to fulfil his campaign promise.

Trump, there are people who live pay check to pay check and need their money, says Lady Gaga

During a performance of her song “Million Reasons,” Gaga paused to take aim at Trump and the Pence couple.

“If the f***ing president of the United States could please put our government back … there are people who live pay check to pay check and need their money,” she said to cheers from the audience.

She then turned her attention to Pence and his wife, who was widely criticised by the queer community for taking a job at a school that openly bans LGBT+ students and staff.

“And to Mike Pence, who thinks it’s acceptable that his wife works at a school that bans LGBTQ—you’re wrong,” continued Gaga.

“You say we should not discriminate against Christianity.

“You are the worst representation of what it means to be a Christian.”

“I am a Christian woman, and what I do know about Christianity is that we bear no prejudice and everybody is welcome.”

Earlier in January, it was revealed that the second lady is taking on a part-time job as an art teacher at Immanuel Christian School in Fairfax County, Virginia.

The school’s website states that students can be refused admission if they support or take part in “sexual immorality, homosexual activity or bisexual activity.”

Gaga added: “I am a Christian woman, and what I do know about Christianity is that we bear no prejudice and everybody is welcome.

“So you can take all that disgrace, Mr. Pence, and you can look yourself in the mirror and you’ll find it right there.”

It comes after LGBT+ suicide prevention charity The Trevor Project revealed it had sent 100 copies of John Oliver’s pro-gay book A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo to Karen Pence’s school.
