Logan Paul has sparked a furious response by claiming that his new year’s resolutions involve attempting to “go gay” for a month.

The YouTuber said on the latest episode of his Impaulsive Podcast that he had created resolutions for the first three months of 2019, including “male-only March.

“So it’s male-only March,” he explained in the video, uploaded on January 9. “We’re gonna attempt to go gay for just one month.”

Logan Paul made the comments on his podcast:

One of his three co-hosts on the show, Mike Majlak, commented: “For one month. And then swing… go back.”

The 23-year American, who is among YouTube‘s biggest stars with 18 million subscribers, then laughed at his own comments, along with the co-hosts.

Paul’s remarks come a year after he posted a video showing a dead body in Japan‘s Aokigahara forest, prompting mass outrage.

People angry at Logan Paul over “gay” comments

Paul’s remarks on his podcast have led to a wave of backlash.

People have expressed anger over the idea that a person can choose to “go gay.”

One tweeter wrote: “Okay, are you f**king kidding me? First there’s no such thing as “going gay”, you either are or you aren’t.

“And I understand experimenting but this is just using the LGBT community for views and it’s sick. F**k Logan Paul.”

Another furious commenter said: “How is @LoganPaul even still a thing? He constantly keeps putting his foot in his mouth!

“Imagine being so socially unaware that you think it’s ok to ‘go gay for a month'”

“Being gay is not a choice nor a joke, you f**king t**t!”

A different user wrote: “Yet another swing and a miss from @LoganPaul. You can’t just ‘go gay’ for a month for a laugh.

“And for all the people defending this and saying it’s just a joke – even if it is, it’s tone-deaf and not funny.”

Others made the point that whether Paul was making a joke or not, he had given oxygen to a dangerous falsehood.

“Can we please stop perpetuating this myth that people CHOOSE to be gay,” one such tweeter said.

Another wrote: “Imagine being so socially unaware that you think it’s ok to ‘go gay for a month.’ I’m talking about you @LoganPaul.

“There are so many reasons that this is not ok and I hope people realise that and don’t forgive you so quickly again. Trash.”

Some were more concise, with one commenter saying: “Odious, attention-seeking, charisma-less little s**tehawk” and another writing: “Idiot… How does one go gay. You either are or you aren’t.”

And a different person summed up the general frustration with Paul’s comments, tweeting: “the lgbt community goes through enough without logan paul trying to make a ‘challenge’ out of gay relationships.”
