There are so many highly-anticipated movies coming out in 2019.  Which of these 2019 movies will be on your to-watch list?

The Lion King

How can anyone not be excited for this CGI re-make of the 1994 Disney classic?

Voice actors will include beloved LGBT ally Beyoncé (Nala), Donald Glover (Simba), James Earl Jones (Mufasa) and Seth Rogen (Pumbaa).

Are you prepared to watch Mufasa fall all over again?

The Lion King will be released in summer next year.

Captain Marvel

Actor Brie Larson, who portrays Captain Marvel, stole queer hearts in the first trailer for Marvel Studios’ first woman-fronted film Captain Marvel. 

Captain Marvel, whose real name is Carol Danvers, is based on the Marvel Comics character.

This superhero movie will be on the big screens on March 8, 2019.

Avengers: Endgame

At the end of the last Avengers movie, viewers were at the edge of their seat.

After the dreaded Thanos literally erasing half of the universe, this 2019 Avengers movie follows the remaining Avengers in their quest to undo the Mad Titan’s deed.

The Joker

And if you’re more into DC Comics than Marvel, you won’t be displeased.

The Joker (2019 movie) gives you the background of the criminal mastermind’s life.

The movie shows how a failed stand-up comedian is driven to insanity, becoming the psychopathic murderer that is the Joker.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile

This movie follows the atrocities of serial killer Ted Bundy, portrayed by gay favourite Zac Efron.

It follows the crime story from the perspective of Bundy’s girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer.

Kloepfer had refused to believe the disturbing truth about her partner for years.

What Men Want

A gender-swapped version of the Mel Gibson comedy What Women Want.

Taraji P. Henson portrays a sports agent who can hear what men at work are thinking. Will the movie stick to stereotypes or delve deeper into the psyche?

This comedy will be released in early 2019.

The Upside

The Upside is also among the 2019 movies people are excited about.

Starring Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston, this feel-good movie is a remake of The Intouchables. 

It is about an ex-con who forms an unlikely friendship with a disabled man under his care.

Glass

Glass is another movie to come out in 2019.

This movie that brings together Unbreakable (released in 2000) and Split (released in 2016)—in one exciting thriller directed by M. Night Shyamalan.


It features big stars including Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, James McAvoy, Sarah Paulson and Anya Taylor-Joy.

The Universal movie will be released on January 18 next year.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

2019 brings us another Quentin Tarantino movie.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is set during the Helter Skelter reign of terror in 1969 Los Angeles.

It follows a forgotten TV actor and his longtime stunt double as they strive for success in Hollywood.

This will likely be a great one with stars including Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie.

Toy Story 4

Our childhood favourite will be on the big screen once again with its fourth movie coming out in 2019.

Its official trailer is pending but there was a teaser showing a new fellow toy to join the Toy Story gang.

It’s said to be released in June 2019.

Frozen 2

Millions fell in love with Disney’s Frozen in 2013, and it will be on our big screens again in 2019 with Frozen 2.

The movie follows the story of two royal sisters who show the power of family and womanhood.
