Lesbian porn has been named the most popular type of content this year on leading adult film sites Pornhub and YouPorn, according to porn statistics.
The category finished well ahead of its competition, a result fuelled mainly by women, who were much more likely than men to search for and watch lesbian porn.
While women expressed a desire for lesbian porn more than any other on both sites, men were less keen, with the term coming in at number six on Pornhub and number 10 on YouPorn when results were limited to just men.
Overall, women were 151 percent more interested in lesbian videos than their male counterparts.

There were also shifts within the lesbian porn genre as Pornhub searches among women for “lesbian strap on” went up 392 percent.
When compared to men, women were also 281 percent more likely to click on the “p***y licking” category.

Dr Laurie Betito, director of the Pornhub Sexual Wellness Centre, explained: “Women continue to favour lesbian porn.
“They get to see acts they enjoy on themselves—that’s why ‘p***y licking’ is popular.”
Trans porn was much more popular in 2018
Porn statistics also show that trans porn has become more popular.
The two adult film companies’ end-of-year overviews showed there was a particular increase of interest in trans porn among viewers over the age of 45, who searched for the category on Pornhub over 200 percent more than they did last year.
Trans porn became the 16th most-searched term on YouPorn and rose 12 places to number 23 on Pornhub.
This was helped by a 167 percent increase in popularity for men and a 73 percent rise with women.
But the overall rise in interest for trans porn didn’t come close to matching the huge spike produced by viewers aged 55 to 64, who searched for trans porn 290 percent more than they did last year.
Data shows shifts in gay porn viewing habits
Pornhub Gay’s analysis of its traffic showed changes too, with “Korean” taking over from “Japanese” as the most popular search term.
2018 also saw a 3,481 percent explosion in people looking for “omg his dick,” while searches for “dick robber” and “no foreplay” both went up by more than 600 percent.
Hentai also grew in popularity, with the animated Japanese porn moving up 15 places to become the 15th most popular search term on Pornhub’s gay site.
When it came to Pornhub Gay categories, more people visited the Straight Guys tab than any other, followed by Black, Daddy and Bareback.
There were also 302,177 Pornhub searches for Donald Trump this year.
This was less than half the number of searches for his wife Melania Trump and nearly 30 million fewer than adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Dr Betito explained that the hundreds of thousands of searches for the anti-LGBT US President were down to curiosity.
She said: “Searches like these serve as an indication that people use this site to not only satisfy sexual urges but also to get a different angle on something they are already interested in—to see a famous character or hot topic in a sexual context.”
