Apple trolled for sharing Christmas ‘penis’ tree

A Reddit user shared an Apple image that looks like a penis

Social media users have been left in hysterics after pointing out that a graphic of a Christmas tree shared by Apple on its App Store looks like a penis.

The penis-like image was uploaded into the “Today” section of the App Store, which advertises apps for iPhone users.

The photo, designed by Apple’s team, was quickly posted on Reddit, where users compared it to a penis.

Reddit user: Apple’s Christmas “penis” is “just the tip”

The image shows a person in an orange jumper holding the tip of a small Christmas tree, which appears to be protruding from their pocket.

The user behind the post wrote: “Is that a Christmas tree……or are you just happy to see me?

“It took me a few glances to figure out what was going on in this App Store image.”

Apple’s Christmas “penis” tree could be poking out of pocket, not crotch

Other Reddit users offered some more insightful thoughts on the penis Christmas tree image.

One person thoughtfully wrote: “The perspective makes it look like it’s coming out of the crotch, but I think it’s supposed to be coming out of the pocket??”

Apple recently came under fire for not including the trans flag in its latest update of emojis.

While the trillion-dollar company boasted that it has “thousands of emoji” in its products, including gender-neutral characters and the rainbow Pride flag, there is still no representation for trans people.

This is despite a campaign which attracted thousands of supporters who thought the flag was more important than the new lobster icon, asking: “Surely we deserve the same rights you have afforded crustaceans?”

They pleaded with Apple to give “our trans mothers, brothers, fathers, sisters and friends the love they deserve.” Activists have been calling for the pink, white and blue emblem to join the rainbow flag in the list of emoji for more than a year now.

Some of these campaigns have had some success, like that of 15-year-old Rayouf Alhumedhi resulting in Apple rolling out a hijab emoji.
