Ellen DeGeneres marked her 15th anniversary with wife Portia de Rossi by hiring a plane to fly by their house carrying a loving message—the only problem was that the banner was too small to see.

Ellen DeGeneres took to Instagram to post a video of the accidentally hilarious moment, which she had arranged for her wife to mark 15 years since they started dating.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi can be heard laughing in the video, as soon as they realise how small the banner is.

In the clip, de Rossi says: “I can’t see it!”

“Portia and I started dating 15 years ago today. I hired a plane to fly by the house with a banner that said 15 with a heart,” reports DeGeneres.

“I should have specified the size.”

Back in August, DeGeneres celebrated her tenth wedding anniversary with de Rossi by sharing an emotional video of their marriage ceremony.

DeGeneres posted the video on her official Twitter account on August 16, with the caption: “Ten years ago today. This was such a special day for us.”

The video shows the couple on their wedding day at their home in Beverly Hills, California, with a clip of DeGeneres greeting de Rossi and photos of the ceremony.

In the video, the couple can also be seen cutting their wedding cake together, and being serenaded by Joshua Radin, who played his track “Today” at the event.

In another tweet, DeGeneres also shared quotes from the late Wayne Dyer, a philosopher and motivational speaker, who officiated the pair’s wedding ceremony.

“Ten years ago, Wayne Dyer officiated our wedding ceremony,” she wrote. “These words were life-changing to us then, and they mean just as much now.”
