The owners of a school with a head teacher, who also performs as a drag queen, have defended their employee by saying that the two jobs are not “incompatible.”

Andrew Livingstone, 39, works as the head teacher of Horatio House in Lound, Norfolk, alongside his evening role as drag queen Miss Tish Ewe.

Great Yarmouth Community Trust, which owns the private school, released a statement defending the head teacher after videos emerged of him performing in drag.

School trust: There is a “separation” between head teacher and drag queen roles

According to the BBC, the trust said that it was aware of Livingstone’s drag persona but that it did “not believe that the two jobs are incompatible, and agreed with Mr Livingstone clear guidelines to ensure that there is a separation between his two jobs, including the use of social media in promoting his act.”

The trust added that Ofsted was “satisfied” with the division between Livingstone’s two jobs and that there hadn’t been any direct complaint from parents of pupils at the school.

The school is on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk. Both county councils said there had been no complaints over the head teacher’s drag act.

Despite this, the trust reportedly said that Norfolk County Council had got two complaints over Livingstone’s second job, but that it was “clear that the specific content being raised all pre-dates Mr Livingstone’s appointment as head teacher.”

Drag queen Miss Tish Ewe is an “international singing diva”

Livingstone was appointed as head teacher at the £18,000 a year private school in July.

On Twitter, Miss Tish Ewe describes herself as “Queen of Quay Pride and Great Yarmouth!”

On Thursday (November 29), the drag queen also responded to tabloid media reports.

She posted: “Ooh the media attention today! So catch me over the weekend: Friday – Hunters Meet, Hatfield Heath / Saturday – @QuayPride Great Yarmouth / Sunday – REM Bar, Manchester Oh- and a massive big hello to my press stalkers out there!!!!”

And, on YouTube, Miss Tish Ewe says she is an “international singing diva and self proclaimed Bitch with the Itch,” who “brings something new and fresh (her tights certainly aren’t).”
