Karamo Brown’s wedding planning sent fiancé to emergency room

Queer Eye star Karamo Brown has revealed that talking about his wedding sent his fiancé Ian Jordan to hospital.

Brown made the revelation at an event in New York with the rest of the Queer Eye Fab Five.

“This is a true story, it’s sad but it’s also funny,” he said, according to Page Six.

“He thought it was a heart attack.”

“This Thanksgiving, we spent the first couple hours in the emergency room because he had a severe anxiety attack; he thought it was a heart attack.”

“They were like: ‘Everything is fine with you, it’s anxiety. What were you talking about before?’ and [Jordan] was like: ‘He’s been talking about the wedding!'”

Karamo Brown reveals his wedding plans

Brown, 38, proposed to his boyfriend of eight years in May, at Jordan’s birthday party, in front of all his Queer Eye co-stars.

Since then, Brown has booked a a 30-acre venue for the wedding in 2020, and revealed that he’s made further big purchases.

“[For] the Friday night of our three-day wedding event, I just paid for a Ferris wheel, I’m not even joking,” said Brown.

His fellow reality TV stars teased him for planning an event which is still more than a year away, and though he responded by pleading that the big day was “not that far away,” the ribbing continued.

Karamo Brown opened up about suicide attempt

In August, Brown revealed that 12 years ago, he tried to die by suicide.


He posted a video on Twitter, adding the caption: “Today in 2006 I was sitting on my couch alone & attempted to commit suicide. In my mind life was over for me.

“But I got mental health support & worked each day to believe again. And here I am happy & healthy. I made it and If you’re going through something you can make it too!”

In the video, he told followers: “I was in a very dark place. I just felt like life couldn’t get any better.

“Everything that was happening to me was never going to change and I tried to take my own life.”

He credited his best friends Raymond and Tre for calling an ambulance, saying that without them “probably would not be here today.”

The star added: “As you see me on Queer Eye, helping people with their mental health and you see me on my social media helping people, it’s because it’s important to me.

“I want you to know that things do get better. If you get help and you do the work daily, your life can change. I’m living proof of that.”
